Meet Information

Your team is invited to participate in the 10th annual Starpoint Team Challenge at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday May 13th, 2017 at Starpoint High School. This meet will have the same format as a typical individual competition, but team points will be awarded to finishers (2 athletes) with the best combined time, distance, or height. Traditional relays will be run with team points earned by 1 relay team. Each team should have 2 competitors per event and 1 baton relay team. Medals will be awarded to the top tandem and relay teams, with ribbons going to 2nd thru 6th place. The top 3 boys and girls teams will be presented with trophies. Meet Format: The combined results of two competitors will score for each individual event. Relays will be scored as they normally are with 1 relay team per school comprised of 4 runners. Tandems will then be ranked based on combined times, distance or height. Example: Starpoint runner 1s time is 55.1 and Starpoint runner 2s time is 56.5. The combined time for the runners is 1.51.6. Starpoints tandem will be ranked based on their combined total time. Ties will be broken by the better result of the top finisher of the tied teams. Team Scoring: 10-8-6-4-2-1. Tied team finishers will be broken by the team with the most first place finishes over-all. Awards: Medals to the top tandem and relays in each event. Ribbons will be awarded to 2 nd thru 6th place. Team awards to the top 3 boys and girls teams. Awards will be given to coaches at the conclusion of the meet. Any tandem or relay that sets a new meet record will receive a t-shirt recognizing their accomplishment. **Athletes that break existing meet records will be awarded a meet record holder T-shirt! ** Miscellaneous Information: The track is an all-weather surface. 1/4 spikes maximum are allowed. Concessions and t-shirts will be sold at the meet. We do not permit dogs on school grounds at any time and ask that you share this with you athletes and parents prior to competition. Parking: There is plenty of room in the high school parking lot for buses and cars. Buses must park in the bus loop after team is dropped off. They can enter driveway C and proceed left to the loop. Entries: We are working on a simple entry registration by use of either YenTiming or Milesplit. As soon as we are clear on where to submit your entries, more information will be given. Entries required by Tuesday May 9th with final changes due Friday, May 12th at noon. The meet will not be re-seeded on Saturday. Coaches please include an e-mail address with your return correspondence for contact purposes. We ask that changes the day of the meet be done only in an extreme circumstance.
