NEWYORK -- With alumni from as far back as 1972 watching in seats at the Madison Square Garden arena, St. John the Baptist's made its school proud Friday night.

Brandon Camenzuli pulled away from St. Anthony's in the anchor leg to win in 8:6.59, its first ever CHSAA 3200 meter relay title in the event's 35-year history at the Millrose Games.

In doing so, it slayed a slew of traditional relay powerhouses that normally occupy the top podium positions for this race, including Fordham Prep, Chaminade, Kellenburg, and, of course, St. Anthony's, the defending champions from a year ago.

Camenzuli said the win meant even more because it came against the Friars, who St. John always comes close to, but never can quite beat.
