PRINCETON, N.J. – The Syracuse track & field team will resume its championship season when it travels to the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championship beginning Friday, May 14 through Sunday, May 16. Thirty four student-athletes will compete in 15 different events throughout the three-day competition, which is hosted by Princeton University at the Weaver Outdoor Track & Field Stadium. The competition begins at 1 p.m. with the decathlon events.

The Orange last contended at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championship, where the men earned their best mark since 2007 with a seventh-place finish, while the women finished eighth for a four-spot improvement from last year. The women were led by two-time defending BIG EAST heptathlon champion in senior Uhunoma Osazuwa, who earned an NCAA Automatic-qualifying score of 5,549. For the men, junior Jarret Eaton and graduate student Michael LeBlanc teamed up with graduate student Antoine Clark and freshman Darryl White to win the 400m relays before Eaton went on to win the 110m hurdles in an NCAA Regional-qualifying time of 13.85. LeBlanc followed suit in his respective event, taking the crown in the 100m dash (10.47) for the second year in a row.

Last year, Syracuse had two individual champions in graduated senior Kyle Heath and Osazuwa. Heath captured his second consecutive IC4A crown in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while Osazuwa earned her second consecutive heptathlon title.

Sprints
Graduate student Michael LeBlanc headlines a group of four Orange men who will compete in either the 100- and 200-meter dashes. LeBlanc owns the season's fastest times in both events, as he is coming off a first-place victory at the BIG EAST Championship in the 100-meter dash with an NCAA Regional-qualifying time of 10.47. The Riverview, New Brunswick native holds the fastest 100-meter mark of 10.43 (First place – Sun Angel) and 200-meter mark of 21.46 (First Place – Sun Angel). He will vie for his first IC4A outdoor title after his all-conference performance.

Another sprinter who is no stranger to the IC4A Championship is graduate student Bernard Bush. The veteran qualified for the 100-meter dash at the BIG EAST Championship, where he crossed the line in 10:76. Teammates Antoine Clark and Darryl White also achieved IC4A standards at the conference meet, recording times of 10.78 and 10.71, respectively.

Hurdles
Reigning BIG EAST Champion Jarret Eaton will take to his respective event in the 110-meter hurdles. The junior holds the 25th fastest time in the nation (13.85) and will return to the IC4A competition after logging a fifth-place, NCAA-Regional qualifying time of 14.22 last season.

Sophomore Matthew Callanan will make his second trip to the postseason meet in the 110-meter hurdles, while freshman Amadou Gueye will make his career debut. Both qualified at the BIG EAST Championship, where they finished in 14.76 and 14.41, respectively.

Clark, Eaton, White and LeBlanc will go for their third straight title in the 400-meter relay. The quartet had a first-place showing at the Sun Angel with an NCAA Regional-qualifying and season-best time of 40.43. They followed it up by winning the event crown at the BIG EAST Championship (40.63).
