ITHACA, N.Y. – The Syracuse University track and field team will have its final chance to qualify for NCAA Regionals when it travles to Ithaca, N.Y. on Sunday, Apr. 25 for the Big Red Invitational, hosted by Cornell University. The meet is set to take place at Cornell's Robert J. Kane Sports Complex.

Junior Liz McCarter will be back in action for the Orange women after earning one of the teams three crowns at the Cortland Track and Field Classic on Apr. 17. McCarter ran the 1,500-meter in a time of 4:46.12. Joining her will be freshman Erin Cawley and sophomore Tricia Wardwell, who finished second and third, respectively, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in Cortland.

The men's distance squad is scheduled to include junior Michael Brocks, who earned a BIG EAST qualifying time of 9:23.17 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Larry Ellis Invite. Cross country standout Pat Dupont is also set to run. Brocks and Dupont will be joined by a group of underclassmen including Matthew Bennett, Kris Kolewe, Roman Acosta, and Jon Aziz.

Sprinting for the men will be veteran Michael LeBlanc, who led SU at the Sun Angel Invite after he earned the team's only first place victory of the weekend in the 100-meter dash. Junior Jarret Eaton, who finished third in the 110-meter hurdles at the Larry Ellis Invite with a BIG EAST qualifying time, will also be competing. Freshmen Amadou Gueye and Tyler McCully are slated to compete as well. Both were a part of the 4 x 100-meter relay team that took first place at the Larry Ellis Invite.

Freshman Charma Harris will be the lone female sprinter competing for the Orange on Sunday.
