If you missed Millrose don

This Friday and Saturday, February 5th & 6th will see the Armory host America’s biggest and best indoor collegiate track & field meet.  Over 200 teams from coast to coast and continent to continent (Europe included) will go head to head in the highest level of college competition.  Texas, LSU, Villanova, Georgetown, UCLA, Michigan, Wisconsin, Seton Hall, Fordham, Columbia, Arkansas, Albany, BYU, St. John’s, Oklahoma, Tennessee and South Carolina are but a few of the leading teams in the U.S. who will be here this weekend.  Athletes from over 25 countries will be represented some members of their Olympic teams.  The feature section will begin Saturday at 12 noon and will also include several high school invitational races where national records will be “on the line.”

As to the 2010 Millrose Games at MSG:  If you missed it, you missed one of the most exciting nights of indoor track in recent memory.  The schedule was new but more importantly every race lit up the Garden and “photo” finishes seemed to be the order of the day.  Looking back to the years from my first Millrose Games in 1957, I cannot honestly remember walking out of MSG with a better feeling at such a great show.  Ask anyone who was there and put the date on your calendar for next year Friday, February 4th, 2011.  But in the meanwhile make your way to the Armory this weekend.  It will be great track & field.

Yours in sport,
