2023 NYSPHSAA Boys State Championship Meet Preview

Boys Class D - Individuals

Breakdown:

This race is expected to be close. Van Furman established himself early this Season, but some mid-season growing pains sidelined for almost two weeks. He's been catching up in fitness, but at this level, the rest of the field is closing in. Connor Domoy was only three seconds behind Furman at the State Meet last year, and could close the gap. Anthony Zazzaro drops down from Class C to give chase as well. Collin Stafford would be the favorite for this race as well, but is coming back from an injury sustained the week after Manhattan. He's been able to train, but won't be at full strength.

Quick History:

Furman's brother (2023) and father (1990) have both won the Individual State Title in New York.
