CIAC Class Championships Recap

Class M Boys

Highlights:

There were some great duels on the track as Joshua Lanzieri edged Cromwell's Ethan Wilson in the 100m but got edged by Jared Tomasetti in the 200m, Jacob Brodnitzki won the the 400m, and Matthew Jennings took the 800m and broke the old 1600m meet record but still lost to Nick Bendtsen who crushed the MR by 8 1/2 seconds and then came back to blow away the 3200m record by almost 6 seconds. Joshua Mooney upset Eamon Sweeney in the 110H, but Sweeney came back to edge Mooney in the 300H.

Jonathan Law won close battles in both the 4x100m and 4x400m, but Tolland won the 4x800m by a comfortable margin.

Track winners Joshua Lanzieri and Eamon Sweeney both also picked up field wins as Lanzieri took the long jump and Sweeney won the javelin. Robert Dunkley won the high jump on misses, Jaden Villafane took the triple jump, and Ryan Kinney won the pole vault, while Bloomfield's Ajrael Anderson got a silver trifecta in the jumps by finishing 2nd in the LJ, TJ, and HJ. John Bruder dominated in the shot, and Timothy Buzik did the same in the discus.
