Tale of the Beast

There are a ton of Beastly tales for our final event. The Men of Shen ran a great 7:40.55 for their 4.69 second winning margin in 2015 and included Tyler Schmidt, Mitch Halpern, Jack Vite, and Collin Rowe. Two years later a Northport squad of Isaiah and Elijah Claiborne, Tyler Dollhausen, and Dan O'Connor ran about two seconds slower but won by an even more hugely Beastly margin of 7.90 seconds. That 2016 team went on to capture the National title a week later. The following year Northport was shocked at the finish line by St. Anthony's to lose by a mite-sized 0.01, but the Tigers then went on to set a state record of 7:31.62 while repeating at Nationals. Finally, we do have to mention the third biggest Beast because the 2010 Liverpool squad of Chris Clemons, Alex Wilke, Colin Savage, and Zavon Watkins own the meet record of 7:38.78, and the only reason the Warriors' margin of 4.19 wasn't larger was that they were going up against a Warwick Valley team that would finish 2nd at Nationals and then would go on to set a state record in the distance medley relay while again finishing 2nd.
