Boys 4x400m Relay
Meet Record: 3:25.27 State Record: 3:21.32 Last Year's Winner: Hillhouse 3:27.47
Reigning champ Hillhouse responded to its mishap in the 4x200m by winning
the L 4x400m and earning the top seed with CT's 6th fastest time. The
top five times all came at big invitationals on faster tracks, so they
may not have much bearing on what the teams will run at the end of the
day at the Open. 7th seeded S winner Bloomfield does have the state's
top time, however, and it was not strongly pushed in its meet race. LL
winner Glastonbury, M winner Ellington, and the L's 2nd and 3rd place
teams Bristol Central and Pomperaug should all be in the running.
Missing from the action after an interference call in the LL meet is CT
#2 Ridgefield, which just ran a 3:25.82 at Eastern States.
Record Hunt: Legs are always tired by the time the 4x400m comes around, but Hillhouse got to within about 2 seconds of the MR last year, so who knows?.
