None of last year's top 6 are back or seeded in the top 6 this year, so the competition should be wide open. Hall's Israel Henriques has the top mark at 21-10.25, NFA's Osarentinn Osagie is at 21-7.5, Staples' Connor McGeehan has a 21-4, Hamden's Cornell Tonge has gone 21-1.5, Shelton's Kyle Figol is at 21-0, Wilbur Cross's Armon Hyslop has a 20-8.25, and New Britain's Tarik Hetmayer is at 20-8.

The top candidate to succeed Chet Ellis in the HJ here may be Hamden's Cornell Tonge who has boosted his last year's PR by 5 inches up to 6-5. Two guys who have gone to 6-2 include Ridgefield's Connor McGeehan and Ludlowe's Jack Reynolds, two at 6-0 are Manchester's Rexford Agyemang and Ludlowe's Ben Funk.

Pole Vault

Meet Record: 14-6     Last Year's Winner:  Jacob Bazinet (Norwich Free Academy) 13-6

NFA's Jacob Bazinet went to 13-6 here last year to win the event, and he comes in with a best of 13-0 in 2020. A quartet of guys at 12-6 behind him are last year's 4th place finisher Tanner Badey of Glastonbury, Staples' Jack Burg, Ludlowe's Bennett Hemphill, and Southington's Aiden Chesanow.

Shot Put

Meet Record: 59-6     Last Year's Winner:  Nathan Quaye (Manchester) 53-10

Nine of the top 10 finishers from last year are gone, and none of this year's crew have approached 50 feet. Tops is Norwalk's Jaden Williams (47-6), Hall's Marcus Ramsey (46-7.5), 2019 5th place finisher Eric Tann of Manchester at 46-0, Ludlowe's Matthew Smith at 44-5.75, Shelton's Andrew Mysirlidis at 44-2.5, and NFA's Jordan Ribeiro at 43-1.
