Reigning champ and Class L winner Windsor set its top mark of 48.02 while winning at Middletown, and that meet's runner-up Danbury got the 2nd ranked time of 48.78. Class LL winner Amity will be challenging and has a top time of 49.50. Other teams that have done 50.02 or better include Newtown, Brien McMahon, East Hartford, Norwalk, and Weston.

Class LL winner and top ranked Danbury was only 16th last year, but the Hatters sport a 3:48.97 time off of a win at Middletown. LL runner-up Ridgefield has a 3:59.64 best from a FCIAC win. 3rd ranked Weston at 3:59.98 was 2nd to Class M winner Plainfield last week, where a 4:00.27 was the top time. Three other teams expected to contend are Class S winner Bloomfield, Class L winner Windsor, and East Hartford.

The top 3 in the States Indoor race -- Immaculate (winner by .01), Ridgefield, Trumbull -- should be heavily in the mix here. Trumbull ran a state best 9:24.19 to win Class LL over Ridgefield. Immaculate has the second best time of the year from a 9:24.51 off of a 4th at Loucks. Reigning champ Greenwich was 2nd to Ridgefield in the FCIAC championship and has the 4th best time at 9:28.52. Class L winner Simsbury runs a little further back at 9:34.13.
