Long Jump

Meet Record: 19-8     Last Year's Winner:  Erica Marriott (North Haven) 18-1.75

None of the top 5 long jumpers with season's bests longer than 18-6 got their top mark at the Class championships, but the States Open should be a great showdown. Top seeded and LL champ Ally Lewis of Norwich Free Academy has gone to 19-1.5, while the other two from the LL's top 3 of Danbury's Meilee Kry and Fairfield Ludlowe's Tess Stapleton have hit 18-9.5 and 18-7.5 respectively. Class S winner and States Indoor champ Chelsea Mitchell of Canton has also hit 18-7.5, and reigning champ and Class MM winner Erica Marriott of North Haven is at 18-6.5. Two others who have gone over 18 include Class L winner and last year's runner-up Olivia Bowes of William Hall and LL 4th place finisher Selina Soule of Glastonbury.

Triple Jump

Meet Record: 39-3.5     Last Year's Winner:  Rachel Fleischer (Derby) 38-4.75

Danbury's Meilee Kry added almost a foot to her TJ PR when she launched out to 38-1 in the Class LL meet. Class MM runner-up Aliya Cameron of Sacred Heart has the next best season's mark at 37-5.5, and MM winner Gianna Camill Sahirul of North Haven is next at 36-10.5. Four other contenders have gone to or past the 36-0 mark, including Class M winner Aaliyah Walker of CREC Academy at 36-8.25, Allison Schneider of Conard at 36-6.5, Paige Martin of Norwich Free Academy at 36-4.75, and Kayla Clark of St. Joseph at 36-0.

High Jump

Meet Record: 5-9     Last Year's Winner:  Patricia Mroczkowski (Berlin) 5-8

Reigning champ and States Indoor and recent Class M winner Patricia Mroczkowski is the favorite again at 5-10, which would be a meet record if she can repeat her Greater Hartford Invite height there. Joining her at the top seed mark from the Class meets of 5-6 is LJ favorite Ally Lewis of Norwich Free Academy, who took 2nd at Greater Hartford with a 5-8 jump. Three others entering the meet with 5-4 seeds are Southington's Sydney Garrison, Brien McMahon's Samantha Bromley, and Tolland's Tianna St. Louis.

Pole Vault

Meet Record: 12-6    Last Year's Winner:  Megan Biscoglio (Southington) 12-6

Norwich Free Academy's Paige Martin was the States Indoor champ and is the top returner from last year's meet and Class LL winner at 12-0. Class M winner Elise Russell of Weston has gone up to 11-6. Two others seeking to sky are Class S winner Carolyn Cumello of Coginchaug at 11-0 and the top seed's triplet sister Madison Martin, also at 11-0.

States Indoor champ and Class L winner Susie Okoli of Wilbur Cross won the SCC meet at a round 40-0.

Discus

Meet Record: 142-8     Last Year's Winner:   Amanda Howe (Southington) 132-3
The two favorites off of their scintillatingly close battle in the Class M meet are Serena Johnson of AJ Prince and Natalie Rolon of Bacon at 128-4 and 128-3 respectively. Hartford Public's Class MM winner Wenesha Stewart is next at 125-10, while SCC winner Leah Moore of Hillhouse is at 123-2, Class L winner Susie Okoli of Wilbur Cross is at 120-9, and Class S winner Otisha Williams of Bloomfield has done 120-6. Williams's teammate Aaliyah Boothe actually has the longest throw of the year at 128-5, but it came back at the end of March.

Javelin

Meet Record:  145-9     Last Year's Winner:  Ally Conde (Killingly) 118-0

Closest to Joyce is her teammate Shea Greene, who was the M runner-up at 136-2. Shelton's Jackie Simington is the top returner from last year and won the SCC meet at 133-3, and Trumbull's Class LL winner Hailey Angelucci is at 128-9.
