In the contest to succeed Emily Philippides as 800 champ, the top ten seeds for this year's race enter the fray within about 2 1/2 seconds of each other. The top two seeds are Greenwich's Class LL winner Zoe Harris at 2:14.24 and Old Saybrook's States Indoor 1000m champ and last week's Class S winner Grace Hanratty. Right in there with season's bests below 2:16.00 are Weston's Class M winner Julia Rosenberg, Immaculate's Taylor Mascetta, and Manchester's Kate Hedlund.

The reigning champ here Elizabeth Stockman enters the action seeded 3rd after a 5:01.03 to win the Class M race. States Indoor 3200 champ and last week's Class LL winner Mari Noble of Greenwich is at 4:59.25. Class S winner Angela Saidman of Imaculate is seeded 2nd with a 4:59.40. Three others within striking distance with seeds below 5:05 include William Hall's Class L winner Jenna Zydanowicz, Bethel's freshman Ava Graham, and Manchester's Kate Hedlund.

Meet Record: 10:20.03     Last Year's Winner:  Kate Wiser (Pomperaug) 10:36.72

Reigning champ here is Pomperaug sophomore Kate Wiser with a top mark of 10:34.19 from her Class L win. Indoor 3200 champ Mari Noble of Greenwich and Class LL winner is at a season's best 10:40.75 , but she appears to be trying for a tough distance double. Noble's teammate Caroline Webb next in line at 10:54.15. A throng of runners come in with season's bests around the 11:00 mark, including Bethel's Ava Graham, Immaculate's Angela Saidman, Danbury's Daniella Grullon-Pena, Trumbull's Alessandra Zaffina, and Wolcott's Kathryn Rodrigues.
