CBA Syracuse needed only a small increase to hold its ground and win the state title last year, though like most teams the Brothers were well off their usual form in the mud at Wayne. The average gain for standard C teams was about a minute per runner, though again many teams started without a number of key runners and with partially formed squads in early September.
