The 12 Biggest New York Marks From New Balance Nationals This Year

Bonus Marks

There was plenty of action from this weekend we weren't able to get too in the Top 10.  Chief among them was the monster throw by Andrew Palermo (Spencerport) to take 4th in the Championship Weight Throw.  His toss of 70-8 moves him to NY #10 All-Time in the event.

In the 2Mile, Ian Russ (East Aurora) had a big time performance, hitting 9:10.13 for the best time in the State this year, by over 5-seconds.

Matt Rizzo (Bronxville) finished one slot off the podium in the 800m, with his 1:52.55, but he still moves to tied for NY #11 All-Time.

As for Relays, Newburgh took a strong third overall in the Boys 4x400m, with a NY best of 3:18.88 this year, while Northport took home third in the 4x800m at 7:46.36.  Pearl River brought home a third in the SMR as well.

On the Girls Side, Lanae-Tava Thomas (Rush-Henrietta) took home a silver in the Girls Long Jump, although she was the top American with her jump of 20-7.25 to the winner's 20-8.  She also made the finals in the 200m, and semi's in the 60m, but did not participate in either.

Paris Peoples (Cardozo) was the second girl out of the 400m Finals, but still came away with a Season Best of 55.50 in the trials.

Margaret Atwood (Sachem East) also took home second overall in the Racewalk, NY representing well, with finishes 2-10.

For the relays, Niskayuna took home third in the 4x800m with a new Season Best of 9:11.58, a school record, as well as Carmel and Ursuline taking home podium finishes in the 4xMile.
