She'll be putting a bulk of the work in on Wednesday, December 27th, as she is doubled entered in the Boston Holiday Classic at the Reggie Lewis Center. She competed here twice last year, once at the same event, and then again at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix.
Last year at this event, Chmiel ran 4:51.36 to win the Invitational Mile. With the race in Scotland at the 6K distance, Chmiel is double entered here, in both the Mile and 2Mile.
In the longer race, her seed time of sub-10 from last Spring at Loucks, puts her ahead of the field. Bishop Guertin's Caroline Fischer, an NXN-Finalist in 2016, is the next top competition, having run 10:35 for 3200m. Fischer will return to challenge in the Mile, alongside 5-flatter, Elizabeth Sullivan of Portsmouth.
Stay tuned to MileSplit NY for all the updates from the race.
