Summary:  Notre Dame won its third consecutive CHSAA championship last year by a 25-62 score, and despite the loss of 2016 champ Sydney Rice, the Gators appear both strong and deep enough to capture a fourth straight title. A top trio of Sierra Dinneen, Keiana Mitchell, and Giovanna Comerford have 100+ speed ratings, and the Gators racked up a perfect 15 score at the NY-BQ CHSAA championship with Lindsey Field and Jacqueline Thompson closing the deal. Last year's runner-up Kellenberg captured 6 of the top 12 places for a comfortable win over Sacred Heart at the NSCHSAA championship as Maureen Lewin and Brianna Lausev finished 2nd and 3rd, so the Firebirds will be in contention a little ways back from Notre Dame. Sacred Heart's Maggie Maier will lead the Spartans' attempt to make up ground on the top two teams, and St. John the Baptist appears to be set for a 4th place finish.

Maggie Maier finished 4th last year as a freshman but has risen to the top of the ratings for the CHSAA. Sierra Dinneen and Keiana Mitchell finished 3rd and 2nd for Notre Dame behind their senior leader Sydney Rice, and they should also be in the top group along with Kellenberg's Maureen Lewin and Brianna Lausev.
