The Trailer: Other than East Aurora as expected showing itself to be the best of the B teams at Wayne, there may not be a huge takeaway from the Pre-States meet due to the very low speed ratings there. Many teams prospered by staying home for local meets, while the teams at Wayne were posting low numbers likely due to heat conditions and the absence of a lot of key runners. The EA Blue Devils will begin the season with a fair-sized margin over the rest of the teams, but a pack of squads including surprise teams Jamesville-Dewitt, Tappan Zee, and Brewster and customary powers Pearl River, John Jay-Cross River, and Cornwall are bunched closely together. The next two weeks should sort out many of the issues of who will be running for a number of teams whose rosters remain a mystery.
