Girls

Varsity A

Individual Race: There was a fight for first and second place between sophomores Mary Hennelly of Suffern and Sarah Trainor of FDR as they took the race early on to put 70 seconds between them and Shannon Clancy of Bergen Co. V/T, who placed third. Hennelly captured the lead at first, staying a few steps ahead of Trainor as they rounded the lake and went into the hill. However, Trainor emerged from the hill with a 10 second gap that continued to effortlessly grow as she stayed in the lead, and she credited her stride for taking a hold of the remainder of the race to give her the fastest time of the day.

Team Race: Although only one runner (Bridget Roell) finished in the top ten from Kings Park, they were able to capture the Varsity A title for the day. The host team of Suffern took second place, with Hennelly saying she was happy to contribute to her team any way that she could with her performance.

Varsity B

Individual Race: It was Roshni Singh's race from the very start as she held onto the lead throughout its entity. The sophomore from Bay Shore took home the Varsity B title when she used the hill to her advantage to turn her 4 second lead into a 29 second lead in the end. Jade Sessions of Carmel also used the hill to her advantage as she caught up to Middletown's Dana Lynch to nudge her out for second place.

Team Race: A solid effort from Sachem North today to beat out Bay Shore and Eastport-South Manor for the win. These top three teams were within 18 points of each other, having all of their scorers finish in the first 30 spots. However, it was Sachem North's Molly Ramirez's and Jordyn McDonnell's top 5 finishes that set the bar high and placed their team on the highest pedestal.

Varsity C

Individual Race: Caroline Timm of Our Lady of Lourdes held onto first place from the gun start and kept a 10 to 15 second lead after the first mile. Although the heat may have put a damper on the physical health and times for some runners, Tappan Zee's Alexandra Thomas says that running in this weather must be her strong suit now since it guided her to a second place finish and a new personal record.

Team Race
: The heat was beginning to take a toll on runners as the sun was at its highest for the last race of the day. Runners gave it their all as they nearly collapsed across the finish line to scour up as many points for their team as possible, but it was the effort from Tappan Zee that proved them to be the top team in the end with scorers in the top 15. Haddam-Killingworth and West Babylon put up a good fight, falling behind by only 19 and 26 points, respectively.
