Girls
Snapshot: Brooke Rauber (Tully) opened up the day strong, winning her race by over thirty seconds. Abbey Copperwheat (New York Mills) took a step up in grabbing the silver, both individuals hailing from Section 3. Maple Grove had a 15-point win over Section 4's Delhi.
Questions Answered: Rauber once again looks the favorite in Class D, hoping to build a nice State Title collection by her senior year.
Questions Raised: Unranked Delhi was much closer to Maple Grove than expected. Does that mean Delhi is a team on the rise, or the Maple Grove is coming back to them.
Boys
Snapshot: After a strong early race from Dan Bort (Tully), it was senior Mike Peppy (Maple Grove) who came away with the 20-second win. He was the only athlete under 17mins for the race. The team title was a little closer for Peppy, as Maple Grove outlasted Maple Hill by only five points, 71 to 76.
Questions Answered: Peppy remains as one of the favorites in Class D, now that reigning champ Kyle Fulk has graduated.
Questions Raised: Like the girls, Maple Grove had the team scoring way to close for comfort, especially if they are seeded as the favorites for the Class D title this year.
