Division 1

Girls

Snapshot: Senior Abigail Spiers (Niskayuna) pulled away in the last mile, leading her to a new course record in her win.  The next four athletes were checkerboarded between Fayetteville-Manlius and Liverpool.  FM came away with the team win at 44 points, and Liverpool was right behind at 85.

Questions Answered: After their debut at VVS, Liverpool comes away with another big performance, setting themselves up for a rise in the State Rankings.

Questions Raised: Although FM won the meet, they didn't look as sharp as they should at this point in the season.  Is their run of Regional victories in jeopardy as teams like Shenendehowa and Saratoga join the mix, in addition to those they raced here?

Snapshot: Senior Shea Weilbaker went wire-to-wire to run the fastest time of the day in winning Division 1.  Local Tyler Senall (Penfield) outkicked Fayetteville-Manlius' #1 in Ben Otis for the silver medal.  Manlius took home the team win with a sub-60second spread at 65 points, but Niskayuna was only 20 points back for second place.

Questions Answered: Manlius reiterated their NY-1 status with a hotly contested win.  Niskayuna took a win over Corning by nearly 30 points, and that should shake up the state rankings in their favor

Questions Raised: The Top 5 teams all had compression under 1min.  How will that affect the team scores at a race like States, where the field sizes are considerably smaller?
