Sammy Watson Continues To Lower Her US #1 In The 800m

The hits keep on rolling for the recent Texas A&M signee.  Sammy Watson (Rush-Henrietta) pushed her US #1 800m down even lower at her home invitational, the Royal Comet.  Watson had already clocked 2:05.71 last weekend.  Now, she climbs down to 2:04.88.

The mark stands as Watson's 9th fastest 800m ever, an accomplishment in its' own right.  The senior continues to progress in the lead up to championship season.  Last year, Watson competed at the Prefontaine Classic, then heading into championship season.  The meet once again lands on Sectional weekend, so we'll either see her in one premiere race, or doubling up in two fast outings.

Then, it is on to the State Championships, where she captured gold in both the 400m and 1500m races last year.  It would be her last time racing in the Rush-Henrietta singlet.
