2016 Girls' New York State Meet Preview

Girls Class A - Teams

Breakdown: Fayetteville-Manlius has won the last 11-straight State Class A titles, including the merge.  They enter the 2016 race again as the clear favorite, albeit for a single caveat.  If any one of their Top 5 falters, Saratoga is close enough to steal the race.  Projected at a thirty point deficit, Manlius' 6th runner is around the 35th scoring position.  That type of reversal opens the door for Saratoga, who had a 13 title streak in the 17 years before Manlius emerged.  We've seen the Blue Streaks come on at the end of the year before, just last year in fact, and the push of teams behind them puts their feet to the fire.

North Rockland and Monroe-Woodbury are two very different teams, one a pack running squad, while the other with front runners.  They could be in the mix with falters up front, but their alternative focus will be seeing their position in the merge, as post-season thoughts come into play.
