2016 Girls' New York State Meet Preview

Girls Class B - Individuals

Breakdown: Like many of the classes under A, the individual race looks to have a clear favorite heading in.  Katherine Lee has had a breakout season, despite already having a Class B State Title.  She's moved well up the Sunken Meadow All-Time List (considered to be in the Top 3 running for the States' hardest courses), and taken down the course record at Goddard Park.

Where it gets interesting, is the race for second.  You have four girls with proven credentials to make a move, and even challenge Lee on an off-day.  Olivia Elston and Caroline Timm are cut from the same cloth.  Both of them have dominated local competition, but have yet to be tested against runners similar or quicker than they are.  Eva Scott has seen the competition at Suburban's, so she may be best equipped under the pressure.  The last name to watch out for is Hannah Butler.  Her first race of the season showed she could be up there with the top in Class B, but has been on the fringe in the middle part of the season.  A return to form could slingshot her to the top of the pecking order.
