Girls Class C - Teams
Breakdown: It had been since McQuaid that we had seen Newfane running all out, and their performance at Sectionals threw their hat into the mix. Even assuming the Section 6 Ratings were a little high, Newfane looks strong in a muddied field in Class C. Canton too had a breakout race, after running relaxed for much of the middle season. While they may seem like the favorites in the projections, Class C may be the most up-for-grabs race of the day, with Saranac Lake, CBA, and Mattituck right in the mix. Those three were the Class C favorites through the middle of the season, going 1-2-3 in our State Rankings. Whether or not they were truly pressed at Sectionals will determine how much wiggle room they have at States. Any one of those five teams could come away with a State Title, and for each one, it would be their first.
