New York Girls State XC Rankings Week 5

The Trailer:  The rankings order for Class A was largely set by the McQuaid and Manhattan meets, but there was some movement last week off of some big performances in the Burnt Hills 3 race and Brown Championship. Niskayuna was the top NY team in the Burnt Hills 3 race behind VT's Champlain Valley, and most of the teams settled into their standard rankings spots, with Sachem East and the Elmira Express pack in 3rd and 4th in the race. Colonie was the top A team at Brown with a 1st in Race 2 that kept it in the #15 spot, but it was 2nd-place Bay Shore that got to scoot up higher in the rankings to #18. The teams at Section 1 Coaches were often running without some top runners and all saw their speed ratings drop a bit except for Suffern because of the return of Mary Hennelly. Shenendehowa dominated the S1 Coaches' Race 1, and Monroe-Woodbury took Race 3. Elsewhere, 5th-ranked Corning pushed its speed ratings over the 120 level with a win at Newark Valley, Cicero-North Syracuse captured the V-V-S-1 race, and Ursuline partied to a win in the NYC Carnival.
