Course Record Holders Come Back For More - McQuaid Meet Preview

Michael Connor Memorial Boys Seeded Varsity AAA

Individuals:  Ty Brownlow and Stevie Schulz (Liverpool) have remained undefeated throughout their 2016 campaign.  They've gone 1-2 in both invitationals, and a majority of their dual meets so far.  But at McQuaid, Noah and Sam Affolder will be making a return to defend their title, and the race for the best 1-2 punch of the meet is on.  Noah is the McQuaid Course Record Holder, in town to visit his former school, Carthage, for their homecoming.  He's squeezed in some time to defend that course record, running as individuals for Carlisle, PA.

The biggest competition may come from Chenango Valley Course Record Holder Kevin Moshier (Corning).  Can he continue his rise to the top of the State Rankings, to aid in another Corning individual sweep?

Silas Derfel (Ithaca) has taken over as front runner for his team as Jake Avery is on the mend, and he could very well make his way to the top three in this race.  Connor Doran (Lockport) finished 5 slots behind him in the merge at Pre-States and will be looking to move up.

Teams: Corning is the newly dubbed NY #1 team, and they will look to reinforce that statement with a McQuaid win.  Corning has never won a McQuaid team trophy before, either boys or girls, and the slump may be about vanish.  The biggest challengers will be Baldwinsville and Liverpool, but those teams may be more focused on each other than the Section 4 standout.  Ithaca will be the one with Corning on their mind, and could pull away with a Section 4 sweep of the top two slots.
