Grove started out the year with big numbers at its home meet,
propelling the Red Dragons into the top spot a little ahead of a
Sauquoit Valley team that also started out very well with a pair of
1sts. Beaver River also has gotten in a lot of running already in
preparation for yearlong warfare with both Sauquoit Valley and Tully in
the tough Section 3 Class D contest. Reigning champ Lake Placid
got off to a solid start at the Section 7 Invite. Race 5 at Pre-States
could get pretty ugly once the D teams recognize that they are lined up
next to the teams who are trying to steal their spot in the rankings.
