The first race of the day will start with a bang.  You have four individuals hovering around that 174 speed rating mark, looking for their big break.  Saratoga's Declan Hines and transfer Shea Weilbaker went 3-4 last weekend at the Queensbury Invite, and will be looking to move up.  Mike Grabowski of Smithtown could get a big win here, to get his name out there at the State level.  Lastly, Trumansburg's Evan Whitaker may be Class D, but he knows this course better than most.  Could the junior take a shot at the win?

Maine-Endwell's Matt Goyden is another who has his bearings on the course.  After the rise of Dan Schaefer last year, could Endwell do it again this year?  And what of Lake Placid frontrunner Henry McGrew?  After a state title last year in the team competition, will the taste of victory come yet again?  Should be a good kick start to the day.

You have the reigning Class D State Champs, the reigning Section 1 Class B Champ, and the perennial power that is Saratoga.  While the blue streaks may be the clear favorite heading in, Class D Lake Placid will be looking to use the competition as a tuneup for more equal battles later on.  Pearl River won a sectional title last year by a single point, and will be looking to dive right in to make it back to States one year later.  Also be sure to watch out for Smithtown, who could make an impact.
