Bella Burda Makes International Debut in 5K, Represents Team USA In Poland

Arlington grad Bella Burda heard the news after a heartbreaking third place finish at USA Junior Champs in California.  Fiona O'Keefe, who had won the the race, would be forgoing her slot in Poland to focus on the transition to collegiate running, when she will join Stanford this fall.  Burda, a freshman at Villanova, was the next girl in, and was soon aboard the plane abroad.

Running in the 5000m, Burda took 16th overall.  Fellow American, and past Foot Locker Champ, Anna Rohrer took home 11th in a competitive international field.  Burda's time of 16:43 came after a strong pace.  This isn't Burda's first big race as a collegian, as she aided her team to a 4x1500m Penn Relays Championship of America Title.
