Sage Hurta and Kaitlyn Ryan Drop 800m Personal Bests To 2:06 Across The East Coast

Running at meets across the country, two New York athletes dropped significant personal bests.  In New Jersey, Kaitlyn Ryan (Bronxville) was running at the Princeton Olympic Trials Qualifier 2, where professional athletes were attempting to hit the trials standards. Regardless, Ryan, running in the slow heat, took on the pro's with triumph, winning her heat in 2:06.65.  The mark would hold on for 6th overall in the seeded heat, making Ryan NY #3.

International competition wasn't unique to New Jersey.  Sage Hurta (Hamilton), running at New Balance Nationals, had to fend off the Canadians.  Victoria Tachinski of Canada made for the perfect pacer, as Hurta held on in second. Coming through in 62, Hurta closed in 64.2 to capture the silver medal at Nationals.  The mark moves her to NY #2 this year, loaded at this distance.
