Girls Mile
Saturday, 3:16pm
Kate Murphy has an 11-second advantage over the rest of the field. That should tell you who the favorite is right off the bat. Sammy Watson, who beat out Murphy's 1000m time, has scratched from the event. So that leaves Diana Vizza as next girl up. Vizza has the fastest time of those with the auto-bids (Murphy was an at-large), and is looking to represent NY well. Jessica Lawson looked strong at her qualifier, and blew out the competition. With people to run with, she may move up the list quite drastically. Jess Drop of CT beat out Vizza head to head, en route to winning two of the Auto-bid races, and will be in the mix for the podium.
