Varsity Girls Individuals
Worth the wait. That's all that can be said after all the speculation on Saratoga, after some unforeseen weather caused a major gap in their racing schedule. But they have been building strength in their dual meets, and it was only a matter of time before they broke out.
Kelsey Chmiel impressed early, taking the pace out hard. 8th Grader Emily Bini played chase to the early pace, as both were clear of the field through the first 400m. But throughout the race, Danielle Jordan closed the gap, as another freshman moved up with the surge. But it wasn't enough to catch Kelsey Chmiel, who was running a race on her own. She moves to #13 All-Time at SPAC.

Varsity Girls Teams
Speaking of the All-Time list, the rest of the Top Four from Saratoga broke into the All-Time list at SPAC. The next three were only off by mere seconds, another attempt coming at Sectionals next week. The performance was dominating, averaging 17:38, which would place 6th overall if run by an individual. Five athletes in the Top 10, 7 in the Top 12, Saratoga has just reminded the nation they are still one of the top teams in the country.
Behind them, Shenendehowa was battling for second with a very good Colonie performance. Shen sat Charlotte Hartman, which would have bumped down their score, but still had season best marks from many individuals. For perspective on Saratoga's mark, Shen is a top ten team in the nation when at full strength, and Colonie is not far off either.
