This Year's Outlook

The Witches are back in Class D with a mainly young team that appears to be the strongest in the state. Senior Tori Spezio will be trying to go out with a flourish in her last season, and has a freshman Annabel Gregg running with her who may be the future champion of States D. With Brooke and Brynne Wright and Chloe Littell making up the rest of the Top 5, Greenwich appears to have the depth this year to give it a good shot at capturing its first state championship since 2009.

This Year's Outlook

The Black Knights would be favorites to win their 3rd straight States title if not for the reappearance of a fully stocked Greenwich team in Class D. Ashleigh Crawford and Ellen Jaworski will be shooting for their 3rd straight Top 10 placing at States, and Allison Carr and Alison Congelli give Tully enough depth to win a deep S3-D sectional title and then go on a quest for that 3rd state championship.

Margaret Champagne picked up her 5th States medal with a 3rd place finish to lead her Seton Catholic team to a best ever 2nd place finish at States.

This Year's Outlook

The Knights had their best ever finish at States last year in 17 tries, and the reason was that for once they had a little more depth behind the top star runner. Last year longtime frontrunner Margaret Champagne won her 5th States medal when she took 3rd place, and with a young and up-and-coming crew behind her led by Sofia and Lea DeJordy, moving up one more place to a state championship for the Knights is certainly a possibility.

Norwood-Norfolk

Kaycie Saucier punched in a Wildcats' best-ever 4th at States last year to lead Norwood-Norfolk to its top finish in 3rd place.

States medalists Kaycie Saucier and Hannah Gray are back with almost-medalist Leah Livernois to lead a team from Section 10 in the quest for its best-ever finish at States, and after a 3rd place finish last year, with a little more depth the Wildcats could be in the mix for a state championship.

The top returning 6 have an average class level of 9.5, so the Beavers are the youngest team in the state. States finalist Emilly Lighthall is back with freshmen Shauna Rice and Taylor Moore to chew through all the obstacles in the quest for an S3-D title and a 5th state championship and first in 11 years.

This Year's Outlook

It's been three years since Maple Grove won its last state title, but in Hope Pietrocarlo's final season there is a chance for yet another if the Red Dragons can fight off a challenge from Silver Creek and get enough development at the back to be a contender at States.

This Year's Outlook

The Black Knights are running a ways behind Maple Grove in the quest for their first sectional title in 22 years, but they have Jaylah Cossin and Emma and Hannah Seiders back from last year's States and a full crew overall, and with a little more support behind they could challenge for the S6-D title.

After years of recovery, everything came together for Sage Hurta in a huge performance at States last year to win her second championship, and with everyone back from last year's team the Emerald Knights could be a contender in the S3-D race.
