In the Class Finals, Zack Warden knew who was on his inside lane. Izaiah Brown had just thrown down in the 400m final, looking very dangerous in any sprint. Warden, the leadoff for the State Record 4x200m Indoors, shot out from the gun, aggressive on the turn, and reached the straightaway first. Brown came around, and began to close the gap. And yet, Warden's lead was just too big, propelling them to the line in a 1-2 finish. While the time would be windy, it would be NY #4-5 All-Time for the boys if it had legal wind, and throw them up as one of the biggest matchups in the final. Travon Alert would capture the D2 title. Unfortunately, that was not to be, as detailed in the 400m recap. With Brown out of the Fed Final, Warden sprinted away from the field, saving some for the two relays he had on his plate later in the afternoon. |
