| It was an all-out battle for Brenessa Thompson to defend her 100m title. She got a wake up call in the trials after Lanae Tava Thomas overtook her in her heat. But that was all the motivation Thompson would need, as it spurred an 11.85 in the Class Finals, followed by a windy 11.69 in the overall finals. For the freshman, she came ever so close to breaking the State Record she tied earlier in the year, only .01 off that mark, with her 11.98 in the Fed Finals. On the other end of the spectrum, Kennedy Kerr disrupted the balance of power in NY, pulling away in the early stages of the D2 competition, and putting in a serious personal best in the Fed Finals for second overall. Only a junior, she's got one more year to come back and win the title outright! | ||||
