Medgar Evers is looking to hold off a State that is ready to pounce. That doesn't mean they are going to give up. The girls from Evers have a senior heavy squad, running only a freshman squad to qualify. The true power of the relay has yet to be seen, and you never know if they can break their own State Meet Record. With the weather as it is, it may have to come on Friday evening. Brentwood broke onto the scene at the qualifiers with a big performance, looking for that NYSPHSAA Title. And then there is Rush-Henrietta, a squad filled with three freshmen, a sophomore and two juniors. They'll be getting the right experience thrown into this mix, and could very well shock the field with a win. This one is going to be fast. As for the D2 competition, it was clear Tapestry was going to be the team to beat at their qualifier, and nothing will change in Albany. | |||||
