Boys Mile
Fresh off the fastest split at Penn Relays, Jimmy Asselmeyer is making the leap up to the mile. He'll have to contend with Brewster's Kevin Hazelwood and Mike Delfay, who are consistently sub-4:20. This could be a breakout performance for each.
Girls 3000
Bella Burda (Arlington) returns to the Somers Track one final time, as she continues to head under 10-minutes. But she'll have to contend with Julia Stevenson (Hackley), who has been on a tear this Spring season. Could the pair push each other to new season bests?
Boys Sprints
Lakeland/Panas' Josh Dacres had one of the faster splits in the 4x400m at Penn Relays for New York, and he returns to fight off plenty of competition for sprint dominance at Somers, competing in the 100m, 200m, and 400m. He'll have Hackley's Elijah Ngbokoli and Mount Vernon's Cody Housen to deal with in each.
Girls 1500m
Kaitlyn Ryan (Bronxville) looks to highlight the field against some strong competition from Lakeland/Panas. Anna Flynn (Ursuline) set the state leader at 4:40.17 early this week, a mark to chase.
Boys 800m
Jimmy Asselmeyer returns, with Martin O'Connell (Eastchester) and Benito Muniz (Carmel) ready to give chase. All three can throw down under 1:53, and this should be a good race to watch.
Other Notable Names
Chelsea Ogindo (Peekskill) will take on the 400m/800m double, while the New Rochelle girls, including Victoria Jones-Alleyne, take on the Shuttle Hurdle. Connor Stack (Arlington) and Eli Waxler (Pleasantville) take on Hazelwood and O'Connell in the 3200m.
