Kate Zendell - Suffern (Steeplechase)
There is a lot to talk about in the Suffern camp as of late. A national record for Kam McIntosh, a State Record for Mary Hennelly, and a State Medal for Rachel Ludwidkowski. But one name may be flying under the radar, after a stress fracture sidelined much of her indoor season. Kate Zendell is the defending National Champion in the Steeplechase, and will return to the track this spring. She was a relay leg in the 4xMile at the Pirate Relays, proving she is ready to run once again. She is the state's top returner in the event, one of only two athletes to break 7-minutes for the event. At full strength, she is the favorite for the State Title.
