Pirate Relays Set Sail In Windy Conditions

Pearl River, NY - The outdoor season is officially open, as the first slew of results came in.  Pearl River, home of the Pirate Relays, definitely had the wind chill factor, but several marks stood out.

Cornwall edged out Tappan Zee in the 4x1600m relay, winning in 21:54.50.

Luke Gavigan threw out an impressive 4:25 split in the excessively windy day, to aid his team to the win in 18:40.49 for the 4x1600m

Cornwall won their  heat of the 4x100m in 45.12, but took second to Monroe-Woodbury's 44.35 in the earlier heat.

As usual, Bronxville took home the win in the 4x800m, winning in 9:39.30

Bellport made the trip up from Long Island, and left with a state leading time of 8:15.16

Christa Sidoti took home the win in the 400m hurdles, hitting a strong 69.87

The home team's Kelly Hayes anchored her SMR relay to the win in 4:17.37

It was Tim Boston of Suffern on the anchor duties for the SMR, winning in 3:37.05

Gianna Frontera ran alone, up front in the 3000m run, winning in 10:23.53.

Jack Gibb similarly was the early favorite, winning the 3000m in 8:58.17.

Pawling's Sarah Marvin took home the title in the 2000m Steeple, hitting 7:32.21

Irvington's Adrian Zias won the boys section of the 2000m steeple, hitting 6:38.42

Monroe-Woodbury went State Leading to win the 4x400m, in 4:08.96
