They might not have won the race overall, but that didn't stop the boys of Saranac from becoming the fastest Division 2 team in the State.

New York - It may only be the first weekend for most high schoolers, but the harriers have officially been at it since August 20th. The Eastern States Championship race at the Manhattan Invitational is meant to bring together some of the best teams in the country on a course considered a benchmark for evaluating distance runners. With that said, New York proved again to be one of the most competitive states in the US in cross country.
New York XC tends to start a little slower than the rest of the country. I look around at most other states and they have all of these huge early season meets, while in NY, most teams haven't even opened up yet while others are going to some smaller meets scattered around the state.
