| County rankings to be added next as we have to enter every county in for most teams still. Counties that should be done right now are Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Nassau, Suffolk, New York, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Bronx. Orange County should be close to done as well. WE URGE COACHES TO SEND US COMPLETE TEAM LISTS OF ANY COUNTY IN NY THAT HOLDS A COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS OR WANTS COUNTY RANKINGS. Once we have this and enter it, the pull down menu for your county will function. | ||||
CLASSIFICATIONS ARE FOR THE 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR. Some Spring Track rankings will be off for the 2008 season due to this.
NOTES ON RANKINGS: Simply put, the more data we have, the better the rankings will be. Any track meet or cross country meet that submits results to us in Hytek Meet Manager or Racetab Meet Manager format will have the entire meet added to the datebase within 2-4 days of the completion of the meet. We will try to add as many other performances as we can, but time in limited. Please make an effort to submit results in Hytek Meet Manager or Racetab Meet Manager format.

WE PREFER EXCEL OVER WORD - IT WORKS MUCH BETTER, but again, first choice for us and for the athletes benefit is Hytek Meet Manager or Racetab Meet Manager.
Historically certain sections and associations have been better than others. The CHSAA is notoriously lacking full results, often missing first names, grades, and results past the top six. Section 8 uses their own software that is actually worse than sending the results simply in excel. Section 1 often uses excel instead of Hytek or Racetab. Section 4 also uses a strange software program that is hard to enter. We mention this so you realize why some meets will have complete results entered in the database and some will not. We applaud the PSAL for having comlete results for all their meets. It can be done.
If every meet director used either Hytek Meet Manager or Racetab Meet Manager we could have a complete dataebase and complete rankings in every way possible. We urge the NY State community to move in this direction and offer and help we can in the process. Note that MileSplit.us through ArmoryTrack.com now offers a meet registration system, making is much easier for meet directors to afford the service and manage the paperwork associated will a meet with pre-entry. Overall New York is way behind many parts of the country in this regard and our student/athletes deserve the best.
