51st Bishop Loughlin Games 2005

The growing sanctioning crisis that has threatened the seasons and possible scholarship offers for talented high school athletes who happen to compete for schools not sanctioned by official state associations, is expanding once again. Virtually everywhere you look, there\'s a story of a denial, a threat, and most importantly, a lost opportunity for competition.

In New York, the NYSPHSAA (New York State Public High School Athletic Association) is the final word. Yet, thanks to renewed and apparently expanding enforcement of existing regulations, it\'s turning out they also have influence in a lot of other states.

Featuring athletes from West Catholic, Archbishop Carroll and Perkiomen Valley, PA ran exceptionally well at the Bishop Loughlin Games/168th Street Invitational on Sat Dec 18th.

This is the first big weekend of Indoor Track. Results will be posted as they come in to the site. Please remind people to send them in.

At the 51st annual Bishop Loughlin Games held at the New York Armory, Bethel junior Francena McCorory ran the second fastest U.S. high school prep time ever for 300 meters with her 37.60 clocking to win the event. McCorory\'s previous personal best in the event was her state meet record breaking 38.23 clocking at last year\'s Group AAA state title victory. McCorory will certainly have ample opportunities to go after the national record as the season is very young.
