Fayetteville-Manlius: FIve First Men Don Rich Dec 1, 2004

Fayetteville-Manlius is clearly the favorite in the boys' race heading into the the first Nike Team Nationals on December 4th. But they don't necessarily see themselves that way. And that, in essence, is one of the reasons they are the team they are (see Meet 'the new Stotans" - Oct 9).

They personify team. They run for each other. They race as one. You could even say that FM is a team of five first men.

In the biggest meet the thriving program from Unionville has ever run, they came up big. The Eastern States race at the annual Manhattan Invitational attracts the best teams to a single race. In the mix were the three top-ranked teams from the Northeast US, Saratoga Springs NY, Bay Shore NY, and Bethlehem Central NY. Also in the race were previously ranked teams, includiing St. Basil and Hatboro-Horsham.

PA Teams @ the 10/9 Manhattan Invitational in NYC Don Rich Oct 1, 2004

There are a lot of PA teams making the trip to Van Cortlandt Park in New York 10/9, many of which will race in the prestigious Girls Eastern States Championships, including NE #10 Unionville, and formerly ranked teams St. Basil and Hatboro-Horsham. Top boys teams making the trip include North Penn, LaSalle and Hatboro-Horsham. will provide onsite coverage.
