NYRR Saturday Night at The Armory II (Collegiate) 2011

Seniors Matthew Gibney (Albury, Australia) and Carl Mackenzie (Lower Hutt, New Zealand) won their respective events in each runner's indoor season debut and Villanova had a successful outing in the second of two "College Saturday Night" meets at the New York Armory on Saturday night. A small contingent of Wildcats at the meet combined to tally 76 points and enable Villanova to finish fourth out of 12 in the team standings.

Senior Sheila Reid (Newmarket, Ont.) has the fastest time in the nation in the 3000 meters this season by a margin of five seconds after winning the event in the second of two "College Saturday Night" meets at the New York Armory on Saturday evening. Reid accounted for one of six first-place finishes by the Wildcats with an NCAA qualifying time and Villanova came in third out of 10 in the team standings with the contingent of athletes it sent to the meet.

Behind 11 top-five finishes and a Noel James victory in the high jump, the University of Connecticut men's track and field team brought home a third place finish at the Saturday Night at the Armory meet.
