Welcome to the 1st Annual Brother Brian Crusader Classic! In September 1962, Brother Brian began his long and remarkable journey at Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School. Just two years later, he took on the role that would help define an era, head coach of the schools track and field program, a position he held from 1964 to 1981.
When Brother Brian first arrived, the schools trophy case held just one award, a second-place finish from the Mt. St. Michael Polar Bear Meet. Through dedication, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to his student-athletes, that single trophy grew into nearly two hundred by the time he concluded his coaching career.
Competing in the pre-Fosbury Flop era, his high jumpers and hurdlers set numerous school records, showcasing exceptional talent and technique. His athletes competed in 12 junior-midget Catholic High School Athletic Association City Championships, capturing multiple individual titles in freshman events. In 1978, Brother Brians extraordinary dedication was formally recognized when the CHSAA honored him for his outstanding service to Catholic High School athletics.
Brother Brians ministry in education spans an incredible 64 years, with 56 of those years devoted to Monsignor McClancy. Today, he continues to shape young lives as the Director of the College Guidance Program, guiding students toward bright futures with the same passion and commitment that defined his career.
The Brother Brian Crusader Classic stands as a tribute not only to a legendary coach, but to a lifetime of faith, leadership, and service.
Events: Long Jump, Triple Jump and Shot Put.
4 jumps, no finals.
4 throws, no finals.
Our runway is 135 feet long. Spikes are allowed.
LJ boards at: 4 feet, 8 feet and 12 feet.
TJ boards at 24 feet and 28 feet.
Event Limits Per Athlete: 2 event rule.
Awards: Medals to top 6 in each event
Payment: $5.00 per event.

Parking: The entrance to the school parking lot is located on 71st street between 31st and 32nd avenue. Small buses and vans will be able to park for free.
Spectators are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and will be able to watch the athletes' events
