1st Wheatley Pentathlon & Steeplechase Invite

The Wheatley Track & Field staff cordially invites you and your team to join us on Saturday, April 30th as we celebrate our first ever track and field invitational at our new facility (opened Fall 2020). Our goal is to provide an inexpensive, high quality, and enjoyable event that highlights the PENTATHLON and STEEPLECHASE!

Meet Information

1. Registration will take place on NY Milesplit and will close Friday, April 29 at 6:00 PM

2. There is NO limit to the number of individuals or relays entered

3. NYSPHSAA rules on participation will be enforced

Event Information

• Pentathlon (Individual) - Great opportunity to earn an early season pentathlon seed for the state qualifier.

• Pentathlon (Team) - A fun way to motivate athletes in their respective events!

• Teams consist of 5 different athletes.

• Entries into each individual event will be done on milesplit.

• Coaches will turn in a card at the beginning of their meet indicating the team members.

• At the meet we will compile a list of points each individual scores towards the team total.

• Results on milesplit will reflect that athlete competing in the individual event (long jump, 1500m, etc.).

• Shuttle Hurdles - boys 3 x 100m; girls 3x100m

• Up to 3 teams will race simultaneously on a 6 lane straightaway

• Sprint Medley Relay - 400m-200m-200m-800m

• All heats will run in lanes

• Steeplechase - Great way to determine your entries for Counties & State Quals! Plus, an excellent photo op!

Scoring / Awards

• Events will score 10-8-6-4-2-1

• Boys and girls will be scored separately

• Medals to top 3 relay teams in each event

• Medals to top 3 steeplechases and pentathlon athletes

• Team trophy to top boys and girls squad
