Meet Information
43rd Annual Fort Plain Cross Country Invitational will be held this year on September 18th at the Fort Plain Sports Complex on the campus of Harry Hoag Elementary School overlooking the scenic Mohawk Valley. The course is typically fast featuring rolling terrain, mostly on grass and offers an early season test for the all levels of scholastic runners. The courses traverse nearly the same terrain, with the Modified and Freshmen course tallying out to nearly 1.7 miles and the Varsity and Junior Varsity courses stretching out to 3.0 miles.
There will be 2 divisions of both Boys and Girls Varsity races based on the size of the school, a Junior Varsity Girls race and a Junior Varsity Boys race, all run over the 3.0 mile course. The Freshmen Boys and Freshmen Girls races, will be held on the shorter 1.7 mile course that offers a challenge to the younger harriers. Returning after a brief hiatus, the Modified Boys and Modified Girls will get the meet started as they too will cover the 1.7 mile course.
The course is very spectator friendly with the opportunity to view a majority of the races from one vantage point. If one is feeling adventurous, the whole course can be seen by travelling just a short distance between spots, while seeing the green rolling hills and dales of the Mohawk Valley.
