Championship Facility
The 2012 USATF Niagara Junior Olympics will be held at Hilton High School in Hilton, NY. Access to the track will be limited to competing athletes and USATF staff and officials. Tents and coolers will be permitted within the stadium. Our USATF Niagara Junior Olympics are the guests Hilton Public Schools. We are ALL responsible to leave the facilities in good condition. Please clean your team/individual area prior to leaving. No Alcoholic Beverages or outdoor barbecue/grilling permitted on the school property.

Concessions and T-Shirts
A concession stand will be available. Officials meet t-shirts will be available with a portion of the proceeds benefiting our USATF Niagara Youth Athletics. No other concessions (i.e. candy sales) will be permitted on the school property

Sanction & Rules
The 2012 USATF Niagara Junior Olympic Association Championships will be sanctioned and operate under the rules governing the sport by USA Track & Field and its Youth Division. Please note: ALL TRACK EVENTS WILL BE TIMED FINALS!!!

Membership
All athletes must be members of USATF and reside within the Niagara Association. The geographical boundaries of the Niagara Association are as follows: State of New York west of and including counties of Oswego, Onondaga, Cortland, and Broome.

2012 youth membership fees are $20.00. Please obtain your membership online at www.usatf.org.

USATF will require all USATF Club coaches to obtain a USATF membership and complete the USATF Background Check. Coaches will not be allowed to coach or participate in the Junior Olympic program without completing

Prior to online entry athletes must have a
2012 USATF Membership with a verified date of birth.
All athletes entering the 2012 USATF Junior Olympic Outdoor Track and Field Championship must provide a proof of their date of birth
Copies of birth certificate, driver license or USATF card with verified date or birth are the most commonly accepted proofs of age.
Online Registration
The 2012 USATF Junior Olympic Outdoor Track and Field Championship entry for the Association advance for the Regional and National Championships will all be completed online. Click here to complete online entries.

The online entry for the USATF Niagara Junior Olympics will CLOSE on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 10:00 p.m.
There will be NO paper, phone, fax or email entries accepted after deadline. There will be NO onsite (day of the meet) entry.

2012 USATF Niagara Junior Olympic Entry Fees
Online Entries $ 5.00 per individual event/$20.00 per relay Payments must be made online at time of registration.

Awards
USATF medals will be awarded to the top three place finishers in both individual events and relays.

Protests
Protests must be filed within 30 minutes of announcing of final results. There will be a $50.00 (cash) fee required to file a protest. Protest must be in writing with specific rule in question stated. The fee will be refunded to protest is accepted.

USATF Region 2 Junior Olympic Outdoor Track and Field Championships
The top six (6) in each group will advance the 2012 USATF Region 2 Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships on July 5-9 University of Delaware in Newark, DE. USATF Region 2 information can be located at www.mausatf.org/youth-athletics.htm

Advancement of the top six (6) will be made online after the completion of the USATF Niagara Junior Olympics

Combined events will NOT be contested USATF Niagara Junior Olympic Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Any athletes wanting to compete in the Combined Events at the Regional Championships must enter online during the Region 2 Advancement.

Athlete Check-in
In both track and field events, when the first call is made, athlete must report to the designated check-in area.
If an athlete is in another event (track or field) a coach or parent may check-in that athlete. That athlete must report no later than the third call.
Unless checking in an athlete who is competing in another event, no coaches or parents will be permitted within the check-in area.
Athletes who have checked in will not be permitted to leave check in area.
After the third call and athletes have been moved for lane and hip assignments, the event will be closed and no other athletes will be permitted to compete.
It is the coaches and parents responsibility to make sure that athletes check into only the events they have been entered. This effort will prevent confusion in clerking area and ensure an efficient track and field competition.

Please Note
All Long and Triple Jump competitors will have three prelims/ top 8 get three final jumps
All Shot Put, Discus and Mini Javelin will have three prelims/ top 8 get three final throws

Meet management will provide all starting blocks and relay batons
Whenever appropriate, the games committee will reserve the right to combine events in the best interest of competition.
Coaches will not be allowed on the track, field event areas or infield, except to assist field event athletes with marks prior to the start of the competition

Volunteers
We are asking each club to provide at least two volunteers (adults) to help on the track and in the field event areas at the USATF Niagara Junior Olympics. Additionally any parents who would be willing to assist should contact Demetrius Bennett. Proceeds from meets will made available (grants) to clubs.

Sub Bantam 8 years old and younger Born in 2004 or l2005 (3 event maximum)

* Per USATF Rule 300.1 (c) Athletes must be at least seven (7) years of age on December 31 of the current year to compete at the Youth Athletics or Junior Olympic National Championships.

Bantam 9 and 10 years old Born in 2002 or 2003 (3 event maximum)
Track 100 M, 200 M, 400 M, 800 M, 1500 M, 1500 M Race Walk, 400 M Relay and 1600 M Relay
Field Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put (6lb), Discus (1K) and Mini Javelin

Midget 11 and 12 years old Born in 2000 or 2001 (3 event maximum)
