I received confirmation today. Just wanted to keep everyone posted, since I've had several people ask me.

@coachac I hope they blow up the old "rotation" idea so that classifications don't get stuck on Friday for years in a row. I know lots of people commented that Friday was just fine, but personally didn't think the 7A race had nearly the same "state meet" feel. Weekend state meet excludes some parents (who work and/or travel) and teammates (who might not be excused from class) and alumni (college kids who are in class) from being able to attend. Fair to me feels like a flip-flop where each classification runs Friday one year and Saturday the next. Group classifications (like we did for track this year). One man's opinion. I could be wrong, just ask my ex!

Is that the official schedule or just a projection?

How different is this from last year? Are the 7A coaches happy to be Friday again?

I understand why Single A Public is last, but it does make for a desolate race.

We really enjoyed the Friday racing. Though, I would prefer 3 less classes and everyone race on the same day :-p

@tlgcc1 Agreed 100%. Is there a reason why XC follows the football model? ......other than the old "everyone should get a state trophy" argument.

@crossfan2861 I think it has to do with the total number of schools that participate. Since we have basically the same number of schools that do xc as do football, we have 8 classifications for both. But Swimming/diving and Lacrosse on the other hand have fewer schools that participate, so they have fewer classifications. I would also love to only have 4 classes, but the fact that GHSA recently voted down a proposal to reduce the number of classes, it seems unlikely.
